 Questo è un canto di Natale, uno di quelli che ti aprono il cuore e non sai perché. Ma io sono stonato, lo sono sempre stato, e allora faccio quello che so fare: scrivo. Scrivo di quest’anno che è passato, e ha lasciato i suoi segni, come un coltello nella corteccia di un albero. Scrivo della pioggia che è caduta, del sole che l’ha asciugata, dei passi cancellati dal vento, quel vento che qui non c’è mai. Scrivo di notti durate un giorno e di giorni che non sono mai finiti. Scrivo di un dolore al petto, del freddo, di tutto questo sudore. Scrivo della sete. Scrivo di un paio di ali indossate una mattina di maggio. O una sera di ottobre. Scrivo di quando abbiamo visto il mondo dall’alto. E di quando ci siamo nascosti. Scrivo di un grido. Scrivo di una vena che pulsa alla base del collo. Scrivo di felicità, a tratti. Di un odore. Di una luce perfetta. Scrivo di speranza. Perché, senza quella, non ci sarebbe niente da scrivere.

Aspettò che fosse andato via, aspettò ancora qualche minuto, perché non si sa mai, era seduta in cucina, stringeva la tazza del caffè fino a farsi male alle dita, come se avesse bisogno di dolore, perché il dolore qualche volta ti fa sentire viva, quando non hai altro. E lei, viva, lo era stata abbastanza. Decise di scrivergli una lettera, quella lettera che, nella sua testa, aveva scritto e cancellato mille volte. Trovò la penna, trovò il foglio di carta, ma poi non trovò neanche una sola parola. C'era il sole. E c'era un cielo così azzurro che non poteva succederti niente di male. Si mise il vestito a fiori, perché era leggero e colorato. E lei, dopo tanto tempo, voleva essere leggera e colorata. Prese le chiavi. Poi ci ripensò e le lasciò in casa. Per non tornare indietro. Per non tornare indietro. Per non tornare, mai più, indietro.
